Thirteen Things I did over Spring Break (So far)

  1. Manicure/Pedicure with my mom! That was fun and RELAXING!
  2. Ate at Superdawg with my mom, dad, hubby, son, sister, brother-in-law and nephew. It was the “babies” 1st time eating there! YUMMY!
  3. Celebrated my Dad’s upcoming 60th Birthday at ClaimJumpers. I had the calamari dinner! It was delicious! I also had an awesome mojito!
  4. Watched the movie “Rumor Has It” with Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Costner. Mom and Dad were watching this on TV one night, and I actually walked in several minutes late, but I picked it up!
  5. Fed the ducks NUMEROUS times each day. This is a highlight for Punky at my mom and dad’s house! He LOVES to go outside on the back brick patio and “feed the ducks.” We think he eats more of the bread himself than he gives to the ducks…..but hey, it’s cute to watch! And this time, he was actually heard calling the ducks with his “duck call.” (When you ask Punky what a duck says, you’d expect a 17 month old to say “Quack, quack.” Not the case….he gives you the Donald Duck quack! This is the duck call he had for them!)
  6. Had a scrumptious dessert at my sister’s house after Dad’s birthday dinner! It was nice to see their house and all they’ve done to it!
  7. The Easter Egg Hunt! (8 adults —– the 3 kids and our spouses as well as the 2 “babies”) We each had 8 eggs to find around the living room and dining room at Mom and Dad’s house. They were all filled with dollar bills, quarters, or dollar coins. Each “family unit” also had a plastic bunny with an extra treat in it.
  8. The Easter Basket exchange! My family got their baskets early since we won’t be home in IL for Easter Sunday. We also gave my nephew his “1st Easter” basket. Punky collected quite a few baskets one from Great-Grandma, Grandma & Grandpa, my sister’s family, and my brother and his wife! (Oh, and one from my sister’s in-laws, too!)
  9. Addressed 60 Easter cards to send out to people. (I have to mail them tomorrow since I just got home tonight and my stamps were here at home!)
  10. Spent 14+ hours in the car driving to and from Chicago from Minneapolis.
  11. Visited my grandma at her house… we surprised her when she got home from a doctor appt…….we were there!
  12. Discovered there are VERY FEW 24-hour Walgreen’s near my parents’ home in suburban Chicago!?!?!? I didn’t understand this aas there is a 24 hour Walgreen’s on every other corner up here! Thankfully, a Dominick’s was open until midnight so we could get Punky some cough medicine!
  13. Started reading a non-Jodi Picoult book! (My first in awhile!) I’ll let ya know how it is!

More on my trip tomorrow………………I am tired!

What a busy beaver. My sons are still on spring break and since we have year round school the oldest is off for a month.
    Happy TT

It sounds like you’ve had a great spring break, except for all that time in the car! 🙂

That was a fun visit. You didn’t mention the two yummo family dinners your mom lovingly made for the whole crew….seems like your visit was years ago… the time with Punky was sooooo fun… the ducks look for him every day I think they loved his little duck call. The manicure and pedicure was fun too … alone time with my little girl. Ahhh…. the memories continue to build.

Let me know what you’re thinkin’!
