Today’s scripture Psalm 118:23: “The Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes.”

With today’s word and verse, I can’t help singing in my head “I hope you Dance” from LeAnn Womack. What a song. You can think of it as message from a parent to a child or from God to you….either way….what an important message.
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small
When you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes
I hope one more opens
Promise me that you’ll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
[Chorus:]
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
[Verse 2:]
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they’re worth taking
Loving might be a mistake
But it’s worth making
Don’t let some Hell-bent heart leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Reconsider
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
[Chorus:]
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a wheel in constant motion
Always rolling us along
Tell me who wants to look back on their years
And wonder where those years have gone)
[Bridge:]
I hope you still feel small
When you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes
I hope one more opens
Promise me that you’ll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
[Chorus:]
Dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
If you want to get instant goosebumps and a few minutes to get DEEP into thinking, go ahead and watch the song here.
I get goosebumps and tears in my eyes every. single. time. i hear it.
God gives us many opportunities for us to wonder. What a masterpiece He has given us through nature and the world around us. But, I have to say… I have experienced lots of times in my life where I am filled with wonder at God’s beauty… but the biggest ones I have experienced come with being a mother.
Watching the wonder, amazement and discovery in our children is where I found the strongest sense of wonder.
So, here are 2 of my favorite photos of these two loves…depicting wonder….

I hope you two never lose your sense of wonder…either of you, God is so good.
