Today’s word for our Champlin UMC Lenten Photo Challenge is Compassion. The reading for today comes from Ephesians 4:32. “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
I had several photos in mind for today, but the one that just keeps melting my heart is of Kirby. Last spring when I went to pick him up from school, he proudly showed me his Art Folder he designed. Spread across the front of his folder were the Rainbow Doors we put up at our church with his printing above it… “Our doors are open to all.” His huge heart in the center of the folder just melted me. What a message Kirby had to share!
I may have shed some happy tears right there on the sidewalk. I may have texted this photo to our fabulous Pastor. He may have forwarded it to the Minnesota Methodists who promptly published his photo with their “We couldn’t agree more with Henry!” (I was going to use his blog name here, but he spelled his real name out for you so clearly below!)

My hope is for my boys to continue to exhibit compassion in all that they do in their lives. We sure can learn a lot from our children. I hope they keep teaching me and others all about God’s love.

Let me know what you’re thinkin’!
