Finding Your Quiet

I absolutely love being part of Champlin United Methodist Church family. I love being on the Worship Planning team. This year, we chose “Come Find the Quiet Center” for our Lenten theme.

Do you remember my Lenten posts last year? I had found a Lenten Photo Challenge online and participated daily by posting a photo and my thoughts here on my blog. After a few days posting, I heard from many of my church family members and even my friends who really looked forward to my daily posts. Fast forward to this year and as soon as I heard the theme come out of that planning meeting, my brain was spinning. How cool would it be to do something like that at our church? We can all use a little more quiet in our lives these days.

So, after a few weeks of working on my own and with another member at our church, my ideas became more solid! So, buckle up, my friends. Here’s the teaser for the project! It starts Wednesday – Ash Wednesday!

So, the upshot is that through planning and working on this project to help other people find their quiet, I certainly found my quiet. Strange how all of that works, huh?!

So if you are looking for a way to quiet all of the noise in your life and are looking for a creative way to add some spiritual reflection to your daily routine during Lent, join others by participating in the CUMC “Finding Your Quiet: Lenten Photo Challenge.”  Each day, read a Scripture passage and contemplate the theme word provided.

Then, take a photo that represents that theme and post it to your favorite social media site so that we can all be inspired together. Label your posts with any or all of these hashtags!
