Confident.

I think next Lent a group of us should get together and make up a list of 40 words for Lent. 🙂 They’d have meaning for many of us… and then people could join me with their thoughts. We could even just do a “photo a day” if people didn’t want to write. Let me know if you’d want to be part of something like that! Heck, why wait until Lent 2020! We could do it now! Who is in?

Confident.

At what point in our lives do we lose confidence? My kids are so confident in all they do. Even when they are not very good at something! They act like they have it all!

Enter this reading for today.

Don’t Throw It All Away
19-21 So, friends, we can now—without hesitation—walk right up to God, into “the Holy Place.” Jesus has cleared the way by the blood of his sacrifice, acting as our priest before God. The “curtain” into God’s presence is his body.
22-25 So let’s do it—full of belief, confident that we’re presentable inside and out. Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching.

Hebrews 10:19-25 The Message (MSG)

We should all exude such confidence. Especially when we are living out Jesus’ teachings and spreading love to all we meet.

Sure, we slip up at times. Sure, we take the easy way out. Sure, we can turn our head away from people in need. And I think I just answered my question above. This is where we learn to lose confidence. We know we are human and can only do so much.

I leave you with a few photos today…. both of our children exuding such confidence!

The prayer for tonight is: Jesus, source of all confidence, make us bold in faith so that we might cling to your living way of faith and life, caring for and encouraging one another in you. Amen

Let me know what you’re thinkin’!
