I can’t help but thinking of restore as in restoring power, resetting, bringing something back to it’s former position (but in this biblical sense, I feel like it comes back even better than the original position), or renew.
Remember the theme of these Lenten devotions was “God is On the Move.” What a cool word for that!
God is always on the move. Showing us back to restoration. Back to where we were to start anew. God wants us to heal our brokenness. He wants us to move forward in his love and his mercy. God is always working in our lives to show us the direction to follow Him and his ways.
There are so many times in my life that I felt broken, used, unworthy, but during those times, I ended up being closer to God and closer to the person I want to be. Because of God. Because of the way he touched me. Because of the way he helped me realize who I am and who I want to be.
This will be quick tonight as I have stayed up way too late cooking some bacon-wrapped chicken breasts for my lunches the rest of the week, finishing an IEP for one of my students and just being around here for my family.
I keep picturing our modem and the fact that it had to be restored to its previous state in order for us to move forward. I swear when it was reset, restored, that it was even faster than before, but that may have been in my mind.

Just like that, God restores our soul, our minds, and our beings so that we can process through the “junk” we deal with, but also so we can end up being in front of all of that, and helping spread His word and His love.
Tonight’s prayer: Holy One, the restorer of our souls and our lives, we give you thanks for your work of restoration. Use us to build up, heal, and restore this world even as you build up, heal, and restore us in our own lives. Amen

Let me know what you’re thinkin’!
