Oh my gosh, how I love this word. It can pull you out of the craziest low spots in your day. It can flip you upside down into a torrent of emotions if you let it. It can make you feel peace. It can make your heart explode. It can change you.
Of course, my favorite coffee mug, given to me by my sister, is my favorite way to start the day. But that’s not my photo today…… just proof that I love the word and I try so hard to pull the blessings out of every experience.
Yesterday, I teared up at Kirby’s enthusiasm for the leprechaun and all things mischievous and green. He had set traps and tried all day to catch “Lucky” our leprechaun in action.
Today, I teared up in the car as I drove Punky and two of our neighbors home from school. Next year will be Punky’s last year at my building and he’ll be off to the high school. Time is just moving so fast. Too fast.
So, here I am tonight reflecting on “blessed,” and my heart just pours out the love for these two leprechauns. I love being their Mama. I love watching the magic of childhood dance in their eyes. I love that Punky played along to help Kirby believe that Lucky was running around our house all day.
Here are scrapbook pages i made 9 years ago for Punky and I just did on my phone for Kirby. (Sorry, I redacted his name on it). These pics embody my thoughts on being blessed.
I hope they always see the good in life. Always pull out the blessings in experiences and circumstances. I hope they never lose sight of what’s important in life. I hope they know how lucky their Mama is to be their Mom.
I know God’s love for me and for them is ten-fold what I feel. We are truly blessed each and every day in His love.
Amen.
