I know I took a small hiatus from the Lenten photos. I actually have most of them, but didn’t have time to reflect on them or post them. Maybe I’ll add them here and there as I go forward. Today’s word was Citizen.
My heart was heavy today with the horrific events in New Zealand. That word citizen just kept ringing with me all day.
Over spring break, my sons and I played with my parents a game of Axis and Allies 1940 – Europe Edition. The game is l-o-n-g, but it is fun to play. But, the more I reflected on that game today in relation with today’s world, it made me sad. Sad for our world. Sad for the fact that after how many centuries on God’s earth, we still can’t figure it out. We are all God’s citizens. Black. White. Catholic, Muslim, Methodist, Gay, Straight, Trans, Bisexual, Hindu, Lutheran, Atheist, Agnostic. We are all God’s citizens.
Today’s photo is of that game board… with all weapons, ships, bombers, etc laid out. It’s time we put them all away. It is 2019.
We are all God’s citizens.

PRAYER Lord Jesus, our hope and identity is found in you. Help us to follow your example, and bring us together with all our fellow citizens with you into our heavenly home. Amen

Let me know what you’re thinkin’!
