Well, so far, the cabin at the lake will be sold this summer…

There have been many tears shed in our household this past week.

Punky is very upset.   He wants to know where he will still fish… where we will go for the 4th of July, where he will paddleboat with Dada, where we will eat s’mores, and don’t get him started about how much he’ll miss the neighbors.   Poor li’l guy!

Hubby is quite upset as well.   He feels this is the last tie he has with his mom.  You could say that most of us feel that way.  Remember how much we feel her presence there?

It is kind of our last connection with her…

I keep thinking of all we have done there.  I’ve been going there since June of 1998… wow.  12 years!  Hubby since the early 1980s!  All the paddle boating, the badminton, the sun bathing, the gardening, the painting, the conversations, the laughs, the games, the bonfires, the meals, the midnight snacks, the reading, the shopping excursions into town, the walks… Some of Punky’s firsts… his first “tractor ride,” his first pool experience, his first fish he caught…his first fireworks experience… his first sleeping on the floor in a sleeping bag experience…his first bonfire… his very first s’more.

Well, I could go on and on… but I think you get the point.  We are going to miss it immensely!
