While Punky and I were in IL for a week, we spent one night at mom and dad’s condo, right downtown.   We spent some time walking around the city, and we met my dad for lunch.  He also walked around with us for awhile.  🙂   Here are some pictures:

Punky and Grandma were out on the balcony when Punky spotted something:

There it was:

The GoodYear Blimp!

We went for a walk down through the “Feet Park” and over to Buckingham Fountain.  It was a beautiful day!

Then, we were so warm, we went and sat on the Art Institute steps to wait for Dad.  Once Dad got there, we ate outside, here:

After lunch, we walked over to “The Bean” and the new bridge near the Art Institute.

(We were happy…just HOT!)

Then, we hopped over to see my Dad’s new office, which is very cool!   I loved it!  Punky was excited to see where “Gwandpa” Ed works!   After the office visit, we headed over to the subway to hitch a ride back to the condo.  Here’s Punky’s first ride on the subway:

Later that night, we headed to The Parthenon for dinner.  Unfortunately, Mom and I didn’t feel so well about 4 hours later…we were both throwing up.   That kinda ruined Greek food for me for awhile, too.   😦  Too bad, too, because it’s usually so awesome there!   😦

That looks like a lot of fun.

Although why, when as you say it was very hot, are there not kids in the fountains etc … I can’t imagine a scene like that on a hot day over here without kids jumping in!
