We took our first ever family vacation this week.  We took Punky up to Duluth, MN.  We stayed at Superior Shores in Two Harbors.    It was so much fun!

If you are my “friend” on facebook, you have seen some of the pictures I took via my cell phone and digital camera during our trip.

But, for those of you NOT on facebook, here are some pictures from our trip:

Day 1 – Sunday

We drove to Duluth after church and lunch.  Punky slept right through when we actually drove through Duluth, so we kept going on to Two Harbors to check into our hotel.   After we settled in, we headed back to Canal Park in Downtown Duluth.

The view from the “beach” behind our hotel.   The lake was beautiful!

seagull

Punky promptly named the seagulls he came across while we were in Canal Park.  Some names were”  Eenew, Oonew, Corey, Perry, Ben, Josh, and Dave.   Then on our last day when we returned to Canal Park, he pointed to one and said, “Hey, there’s Eenew!”  What?!?   🙂

I love this picture!  I took it when we were out on the pier walking.

Day 2 – Monday

We headed back to Canal Park.  Our day consisted of shopping, taking a cruise on the Vista King,  visiting more shops, and then heading back to the  hotel so Punky and Hubby could swim!

The William A. Irvin ship.  Hubby and I toured this when we were here on our honeymoon.  We opted not to with Punky, as it got to be quite long!

Day 3 – Tuesday

Yucky weather forecast, so we headed out early to Gooseberry Falls.  After Gooseberry Falls, we toured teh Two Harbors Lighthouse and cheked out Lake Superior as it started getting more angry as teh weather deteriorated.  We headed back to the hotel for more swimming.  The rain just kept coming, so we actually had a low-key evening in the hotel, eating dinner and watching a movie.  (Punky chose to watch Garfield – he picked it out from downstairs, so we rented it.)

Am now checking out the Web site for the place you stayed, to see if this excites me as where we should go on vacation this fall… Email me if you have any feedback on it! (Thinking my little guy would like to go see the trains.)

Incredible pictures! You did a great job. I especially love the one of Punky in front of the train. =)

This is where I confess to being really ignorant of your country’s geography. I have never heard of Duluth and had no idea where it was (prior to a quick look on google maps 🙂 ), but it looks like you had fun. That is one mighty big lake!

I love old train yards and the picture where Punky refused to turn around is great 🙂
