Punky and I flew to IL on Tuesday. He was so excited to fly on an airplane! (He was only 14 months old last time, so he doesn’t remember it.) He had a window seat and just took everything in. He was just giddy with excitement. Of course, I was trying to manage him, myself, and our bags, that I didn’t get any pictures of this. 😦 I was hoping to get pictures on our return flight (Saturday) (More on that Later)
On Tuesday, we landed in Chicago. Grandma Holly and Grandpa Ed picked us up from the airport and took us to SuperDawg! (One of our favorite Chicago hot dog joints). Punky didn’t eat a whole lot, but his excitement level was still pretty high!
Tuesday afternoon, my mom bowls on a league, so Punky and I headed to the bowling alley with her. Punky ended up crashing in my lap for over an hour! I couldn’t believe he slept in a bowling alley!
Tuesday evening was pretty low key having dinner with my family. It was nice to be home.
On Wednesday, Punky, Grandma Holly and I had a lazy morning. We stayed in our jammies a little longer than normal and watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Handy Manny. We then went shopping for some spring clothes for Punky from Grandma and Grandpa. Punky once again fell asleep on me… and complained of his tummy hurting. We went home, and he took it easy and took a long nap. On Wednesday night, my mom and dad took Punky and me to Wildfire for dinner. It was delicious! I had filet medallions (3 of them) encrusted with 3 different toppings….bleu cheese, horseradish, and parmesan cheese. They were delicious! They just melted in my mouth! Punky had spaghetti, but didn’t eat very much. But, he had a great time!
On Thursdays, my mom watches one of my nephews (alternating each week between the two boys). This week, she had Lucas (6 months younger than Punky).
We took the boys to the Kohl Children’s Museum of the Greater Chicago Area. It was very cool! The boys, mom, and I walked through the different areas of the museum. The boys pretended to work at PotBelly Sandwiches. They went shopping at ta little grocery store. The pretended to be vets. They worked on cars, built houses, drove a boat, played with instruments, played with water, milked a “cow,” and drove a train. They had so much fun! Here are a few picture highlights!

Then Grandma surprised the boys and took them to the park.

Then we drove back to mom’s house and the boys helped her make their lunches….

Thursday night was a SLEEPOVER party at Grandma and Grandpa’s house. Lucas and Punky slept in a room. My sister, the baby, and I slept in a room. The boys had a blast!
Stay tuned for Friday’s adventures……
