As a frequent traveler of IL tollways, this picture was so exciting to see this afternoon on the Chicago tribune’s website:

blago-sign-bn1

Thirty-two blue signs bearing Blagojevich’s name were erected in 2004 at a cost of $480,000. They read: “Open Road Tolling–Rod R. Blagojevich Governor.”

Seriously, what kind of egotistical ass puts his name on the freaking signs over the tollbooths?!?

All the signs are expected to be replaced by the end of the weekend. The total cost is estimated at $15,000.

The signs are not being replaced. Instead, a smaller sign with each toll plaza’s name and number is being bolted over the part of the existing sign bearing Blagojevich’s name.

Seriously……

I’m not surprise they were so expensive. I imagine they must have been misspelled 3 or 4 times before they finally got it right

Ah, Blago. He was making for pretty good TV there for a while, though, wasn’t he?

There were letters to the editor in the Sun Times the other day that wondered why we couldn’t just spray paint over them or have some guy cut off half the sign as a way of saving more money…that would be classy…just put some grafiti over it and all is good LOL

Seriously? I had no idea that his name was on the all of the toll booths, I guess that means I pay little attention while driving from Milwaukee to Chicago.

Let me know what you’re thinkin’!
