Our weekend at the cabin was bittersweet.

Punky loves to go up there, and he was SO EXCITED to get there on Saturday.   When we got there, Grandpa Kenny was already there.   The two of them spent some time on the lawn mower.

Mabel came up for the afternoon, too.   It was nice to spend time with her.  It’s amazing—when she talks, she has many of the same mannerisms that Miriam had.  It was nice to “hear” some of them.  Speaking of Miriam, we had white daisies planted in one of the gardens, but this year…..they were PINK!  (Her favorite color!)  I’m sure it was Miriam showing us that she is there!

I also think she whispers to us each time we’re there.  The windchimes they got for their 50th Wedding Anniversary have gotten quite a workout each weekend.   It’s been so windy!   I swear that it’s her saying “hello” and letting us know that she’s there with us.

Punky and Hubby took the paddle boat out a few times over the weekend.   Punky’s job is to steer while Hubby pedals.    They have fun!

Speaking of my guys.   I got LOTS of cute pictures of them together this weekend.   Here are some of my favorites.

Then I got them each individually.   I love these!

Punky spent lots of time on the dock and on the shore collecting rocks and/or throwing them into the lake.   Here are a few pictures of him….and then he discovered I was taking his picture, so I got some goofy ones!

We went across the lake to a park with a tower.  We climbed up it and took lots of pictures of the lake.   There were also model airplanes being flown, but every attempt to take a movie of them flying around severely failed.

But, here are some cool pictures I took while we were there.

The weekend was bittersweet.  We love going to the cabin, but  the next month has every weekend booked, so this was most likely our last weekend there to enjoy the “summer” or “fall.”    We said “goodbye” until we can get there again (and then it’ll be MUCH colder……and we won’t stay overnight as we have to turn off the water in the next month or so.)
