I watched the DNC religiously.  I couldn’t wait to hear more.   I got that feeling of excitement in my tummy.   Obama is energetic, charged, intelligent, charismatic, young, and ready to CHANGE the country!  I hated to see it end.

The RNC is killing me.   Not only can I not stand to watch it—-but it’s right here in my own backyard, and it’s on the news ad nauseum………….and I HATE IT!

I tried to watch some of it last night.   Ugh.    Everyone there was an “old suit!”  All I heard was “waw waw waw waw waw waw”  (Charlie Brown’s teacher must have been chosen to speak for something!)  Painful, I tell you.

As far as McCain goes……..I was surprised at  his choice for running mate.  But then when I thought about it, I was pissed!  He’s fishing for Hillary’s women.    We don’t like that!  Shame on you, Senator McCain!   Although I do respect your decision to try to separate yourself from George W.’s administration, your effort to convert the women leaves me disappointed.  So many Republican initiatives drive me nuts.

The country is ready for change.  Schools are ready for change.  Middle class families are ready for change.  Working Americns are ready for change.   I am ready for change.

And what a classy guy…….the media goes after Sarah Palin’s daughter’s pregnancy.  Obama’s response:

“Let me be as clear as possible,” Obama said. “I think people’s families are off-limits, and people’s children are especially off-limits. This shouldn’t be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin’s performance as governor or her potential performance as a vice president.”

Go Obama! 🙂

And, when is this godforsaken RNC over?!?!?!?   Ugh.

Seriously, the DNC was like one big love-fest. Everyone was happy, everyone was excited…I’m slugging down wine just to get through the RNC. And if they’re elected, we may very well have to move to Toronto. ‘Cause there’s no WAY I can listen to that woman for the next four years without cutting the ears off my head. Her speech tonight? I just kept pouring wine into my glass…which is probably why I keep backspacing right now LOL! 😉
And email me your Facebook info; I’ll friend you. 🙂

I agree with you, Obama feels like a breath of fresh air. Don’t get me wrong I can see some of his faults, but he seems to offer an integrity that I fail to see in almost any other politician.

And as for McCain choosing Palin to get the “Women’s Vote” I thought it was so shameless.

As for moving … don’t bother. I remember being naïve in my early 20s and listening to Bush stealing the election and being amused at “Those crazy Americans” … but I assumed it would not affect me. Alas having someone as unscrupulous as Bush be the most powerful man in the world (not to mention Rumsfeld’s involvement) was always going to spill over to the rest of us 😦

I have been itching to write a post on these things from my perspective as a Brit, but have shied away from it so far … maybe I might toss in my 2¢.

    (Sorry if I offend anyone)

I would TOTALLY love to hear your take on US Politics!!!! I am with you on Obama. He does have a few faults, but as a person, he’s got so much integrity and energy! We need something different……and I think he’s our answer. McCain scares me….and he’s your typical US Politician……complete with tactics and all!

    hi.
my heart has been feeling a little sadder lately since the rnc.

i am in stpaul, so i felt the prescence as you did.

i could not quite put a finger on why the saddness was so strong, until today: i am losing faith in my america. will america really vote for a republican, again? do we really have that many conservative religious people who are eager to have a republican pres that they would accept his choice of palin? why are the republicans so heartily supporting his choice.

maybe i should write about my feelings on my blog…you have inspired me. http://manypiecesofmylife.blogspot.com.

    take care tendrils.
