This. is. it. I hate banking. Always have. You’d never know I was my father’s daughter.

I went ahead and paid bills last week, posting them on Friday, my payday. Little did I know that my checking account was negative, (a “little” oversight on my part to NOT login last week and check it!) so when I got paid on Friday, I had $364 in fees plus my negative balance already taken out. So, as my bills were being paid, my account was going even more negative. There goes our stimulus check.

As of right now, I am digging out a check book register and filling it for ALL transactions! It’s too easy to use my checkcard……and I never write things down if I use my card! So, all of the $50+s in gas, the $75s at Target, the $25s at Walgreens, the $20 co-pays at the clinic, the $12 at Caribou on Fridays, the money I float people who order products from me…all add up…and leave me throwing all of my money out the window.

Ugh. I hate money.

Damn it.

Anyone know of a great part-time job?

One word: Quicken. Quicken has saved me.
And, yes, as a matter of fact, I DO know of a great part-time job. 😉

    First off – so sorry!

Secondly – talk to the bank. Go the long-time customer, good customer route. You are sorry – Your calculations were off. Ask if there is any way they can help you out & see if they will reduce it.

Unless you are a repeat offender, most banks/credit unions will work with you. They don’t want to lose good customers over a few hundred dollars.

Thirdly, I agree w/ Jen – Quickens. Although we stopped using it (due to computer issues at the time), many banks have an online feature that will allow you to download there info directly to your Quickens. You can go through very quickly & check the calculations.

Lastly, I’m like you, which is why we decided the Hubby handles paying bills & balancing the checkbook. He doesn’t mind it, although it means we discuss what I’ve spent way too much. 😉

Ugh… Sorry about the there/their thing & any other typos. I’m on my PDA. Not easy to type a comment using a stylus & itty-bitty keyboard.

I have recently experience something similar.

I wish our debit card would stop working when we’re overdrafted. Then I would know to stop!

I am sorry this is happening to you! I stress every two weeks.. Oh and I am one of those that didn’t get our Stimulus Check because we had fees taken out for our Tax return so our rebate is not arriving until July!

Your Dad ,the banker, says to call the bank and work something out unless this happens alot…they will reverse some or all of the charges..especially if you just made some mistakes…and admit to it…and vow to watch more closely and write everything down……

Let me know what you’re thinkin’!
