i. am. exhausted.

On Monday morning, I flew down to Illinois for my Uncle Matt’s services.

What an incredible experience!   I have never seen so many people come and support a family!   There was a solid 1-1/2 hour wait in line to comfort the family for the entire 5 hours of the wake… The wake was from 3-8, but people were still coming in until well after 9 PM.   There were HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of people there.  People were circling the parking lot for 20 minutes just to get parking spots.  It was truly amazing…and very comforting.

On Tuesday, the funeral was absolutely beautiful and an incredible tribute to an extraordinary man!  We will all miss him dearly, but it was so nice to see how he had touched so many people’s lives!

There was snow in both Minnesota and Illinois so my flight home was delayed multiple times… I got home after 1 AM.  Of course, Punky didn’t head “right back to sleep” after we picked him up from Kelly’s…so I crawled into bed at 3:26 AM.  I am emotionally, physically, and mentally drained.  It has been quite a week.

I am off to try to get things done around the house as Christmas is QUICKLY approaching!  I’ll be back at work tomorrow.

Please continue to pray for my Aunt Sharon and their 8 children!  I can’t even imagine what life is like for them this week!  I love you guys!

I’m so glad that you are home safely and there was such a lovely tribute! I hope you are able to get some rest and find some peace during all of the hustle and bustle. You’ve been through so much!

No words. Life is crappy sometimes. Lean on others – let someone else be your rock once in awhile – and take time for you and your boys. I’m thinking of you – at work – and in real life 🙂

Let me know what you’re thinkin’!
