Thirteen Things I have to do before my Garage Sale next week:

  1. Find my family room once again….it is piled HIGH with boxes and junk I have been sorting out of the crawl space this summer……all ready to GO upstairs into the garage!
  2. After I find my family room, I need to crawl back into the crawl space and get through a few more boxes…I haven’t touched them since we moved here 3 years ago!  So, I’m sure many of them will also be removed from there and brought up to the garage!
  3.  Price everything
  4. Organize everything……I am a bit anal about my sales, and I organize it all and label every area such as “Kitchen Goodies”  “Great Gifts” “All for Baby” etc.
  5. Go through Punky’s things….we have toys coming out of our ears here!  Some of these can go!
  6. Sort through a pile of boxes I have in the back of the garage from LAST year’s garage sale…….things that didn’t sell and I thought maybe I would use again…….didn’t turn out that way!   They are still in the garage!
  7. Borrow a few tables from my friends…..
  8. Get change for the “Cash Box.”
  9. Make new signs….we had made “Burma Shave-like” signs for our garage sales in past years….but they are getting pretty beat up…….Hubby needs to create a new rhyme for me, so I can re-make the signs…. (Pretty please, Hubby!?!?!)
  10. Set up tables and clothes-line pole for hanging clothes.
  11. Pray for good weather!
  12. Probably should crawl through my crawl space again to make sure I have everything I don’t want OUT of there!!!
  13. Smile….and hope for a good turn out!  🙂

The last garage sale we had was to get rid of the baby stuff. Then I said, “Never again.” Too much work for too little $$. I just give everything to the Good Will and write it off on my taxes.

Good luck! Hope you have a wonderful day!

For me, the hardest part is pricing. I just dread it! I wish I could just offer everything for one price! Good luck!

Good luck with this—here’s hoping the takings are good enough to repay the energy!

You forgot “steel myself for hard-core bargaining and haggling from the walking undead at 5:30 AM.”

    Hope it’s a success!

Good luck with your sale. Always a fun time, though lots of hard work to get it ready.
