I am loving being at home for the summer!   Punky is a hoot and he’s so much fun to do things with!   Today, we went to the Summer Story Time at Barnes & Noble.   They read the kids books about Dads and fathers for Father’s Day.   The boys in the group, Punky included, got up during the first book and trotted over to the “Choo Choo” Table….where they have the Land of Sodor set up and the kids can play with Thomas the Tank Engine and All of his friends!  They enjoyed that!  So much for the stories…..but Punky had lots of fun!

Then we went to Cub to pick up some milk before heading home for lunch.   Punky and I sat down to cheese quesadillas and chatted about the day so far.   Then it was naptime….. I also indulged in a quick nap too!  🙂

After lunch, we headed out to buy Grandpa Ed his Father’s Day gifts and got them over to UPS so he can get them by the weekend.  Punky loved our stop at Home Depot for Daddy’s gift…..they have really cool carts that look like racing cars and the kids have steering wheels in front of them.  He LOVED “driving” that around the store!

When Hubby got home, Punky and I had already called him and asked for “Ha Da” and “Choo Choo”  (Click here) so when Da-da got home, we headed over to Chris and Rob’s for Chicago Style Hot Dogs…..and to watch the “Choo Choos”  Punky ordered himself a “ha da.”  Thankfully, we had Melissa again, so she knew just how excited Punky gets at this place!  We sat in the booth where you can see the “choo choo” tracks.  And punky sat in edge watching and eating………then we heard the horns…..”CHOO CHOO!”  Everyone giggled as we all watched his excitement!

After our fun dinner treat, we headed home and stopped at the park near our house so Punky could play a bit before bath time and bed.   [I avoided being outdoors today as I burned the hell out of my skin from being out all day yesterday with Punky and his new pool!  Silly Mommy didn’t put sunblock on her…..just Punky!  I hurt today! Ouch!]

Tomorrow, Punky has to go to daycare as I have a meeting at school in the morning about the Climate of our School.  Trying to remedy a HUGE PROBLEM in the halls, with respect, and what not…….when I get out of my meeting, Punky will be napping, so I will let him stay with Kelly until the early afternoon.    Then, we’ll have more MOMMY- PUNKY time!   Yippee!

Isn’t it fun to show the little guys new things? I love watching their eyes light up.

Dude – you know – they’re going to know your order before you even sit DOWN at that “Ha Da” place! You’ll walk in and they’ll be like “NORM!” 🙂 🙂
