This week’s Topic:  10 Songs That Make Me Sad

  1. What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong makes me cry every time as I think of my Grandpa Hill.
  2. Over The Rainbow/Wonderful World sung by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole as well as Over the Rainbow sung by Eva Cassidy
  3. Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton This was such a sad song after his little boy died!
  4. How Great Thou Art – Played at Jennifer’s funeral…I thought it was appropriate as Art is great, and her life ended too soon! But now Linda gets to see How Great Our Art is!!!!!
  5. Silent Night – Always reminds me of that first Christmas without Grandpa…..as we all sat at church as a huge family and sang…it made me cry then and still does today when I hear it in church!
  6. On Eagles’ Wings – Again….played at Grandpa and Great Grandma’s funerals.
  7. End of The Road by Boys II Men – Bittersweet tears as this song came out as I was graduating from high school and moving on to college….far away from my family.
  8. This Used to be My Playground by Madonna – this song always makes me think back and reflect on growing up…
  9. I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack  – As a new mom, this song just rips open my heart every time I hear it!
  10. Life’s A Dance by John Michael Montgomery – This song always helps me get back up from being sad and head right back into the ring of life!

    “Tears in Heaven” also made my list. And I agree with you on “What a Wonderful World.” Always makes me teary when I hear it. Good list. Nice thoughts behind it.

    “Over the Rainbow” is good song. “This Used to Be My Playground” was a personal favorite of childhood for me. I mean when I hear of this song, I think of my childhood bestfriends and the place we used to hang out at *grin*. Great memories!

    #2 is good. I never got emotional over it, though, until one of my best friends walked down the aisle to it at her wedding. As soon as the music started I was done for. Good list!

    A cat named Mimi, delivered 6 babies, 3 of them were kittens and the other 3 were puppies in November last year. Due to nature the kittens didn’t live for long while the puppies did.

    your number 8..Used to be my playground ..kept me in tears all the way home to Illinois the first time we dropped you off at college….seemed like they played it every other song… boo hoo I was leaving my baby… and all that was left was memories…I thought Dad was going to tear out the radio!!
