Today, we actually went to church as a family….in one car! This is unusual for us, as Hubby usually has to be either at the first service to sing when we go to the 2nd service, or he has to be there early for choir practice before the service and Punky and I are never quite ready to leave when he has to go. Anyway, it was nice to be together.

When we got there, we quickly realized that we had totally forgotten about the potluck brunch after the service! Oops! But we were quickly assured that there is ALWAYS more than enough to eat, so we stayed for it anyway. [But, we learned as the morning went on that there were numerous people who forgot! So we weren’t alone!]

After church, we went to Sam’s Club to buy all the staples in bulk for the next few weeks. Pretty uneventful.

When we got home, Punky went down for a nap, and I curled up on the leather chair to read…but I quickly fell asleep! [2nd day in a row now that i’ve taken a nap when Punky does! What am I going to do at work tomorrow?!?!?]

When Punky got up, 2 1/2 hours later……I did too. I went upstairs and got him up as Hubby pulled out of the driveway to go get gas for the lawnmower. Punky has this new OBSESSION with driving! He LOVES to pretend he is driving our cars. SO, he made a “Sign” for driving and kept repeating “Ca..ow” [in Punkinese, that is CAR]. So I asked him if he wanted to go shopping with Mommy and we’d go get him his very own car to drive! Of course, that was a hit, so off we went to Target!  [NOTE: This is the ONE and ONLY time in his life that Mommy will ask him this!!!]

We came home with:

I put it together while Hubby and Punky ran to Fleet Farm to buy some seeds for our vegetable garden. When they returned, Punky’s “Ca..ow” was ready to go!

Hubby planted the seeds while Punky explored his car. He has decided that he loves to get in it “Dukes Of Hazzard-style” without using the door!  He also became fairly proficient with going backwards.  I’m not quite sure he has the forward thing figured out yet!

He had fun outside, but we had to cut it short as it cooled down and time got away from us! We went in to eat supper…..(that was not a popular choice with Punky!) After supper, he giggled and laughed as we played in the living room. It was a fun day!

Hubby and I watched the 1990’s SNL special tonight. Isn’t it weird how a snippet segment from a TV show comes on and it all comes rushing back to you like you just saw it yesterday!??!??!

I am off to bed…

i always napped when my kids were napping, too many five hour sleeps at night does it to you, now i nap when i finally sit down cuz i’m old!
we never bought our kids that kind of car, some of the neighbor kids had them and they were extremely jealous, we had the more simple type, cuz those things are huge and we didn’t have the space for them in the garage.

I plan to get Noah one of these cars! (He’s so spoiled!!!) But I know that Ryan will love to play with Noah with it. He’ll push him around until Noah’s able to move it himself.

Let me know what you’re thinkin’!
