10 Idols/Heroes When You Were a Kid
- Princess Diana: I thought she was absolutely beautiful! I read every single article ever in the local newspaper or magazines about her when I was younger. Later in life, I sat up all night and cried during her funeral.
- My grandpa: He’s always been my hero as he battled MS with a smile. His motto was “God never gives you anything He doesn’t think you can’t handle…” See my previous entry about his life here.
- Christopher Reeves: SUPERMAN! I thought he was amazing! I just can’t picture any other Superman on the big screen, so I have yet to see the new movies.
- Wonder Woman: I thought she rocked! I wanted to be like her!
- Mary Poppins: Wow! She was the perfect role model! I loved her!
- Jordan Knight and New Kids on The Block… yikes! I can’t believe I am admitting this online!
- Michael Jackson: back when he made music and not trouble! I loved watching the Thriller video on MTV! Again…….I can’t believe I am writing this today!
- Mrs. Galka, my kindergarten teacher. I always thought she was so nice and I just wanted to be like her. So sad…she passed away last year… 😦
- The 1985 Chicago Bears – Mike Singletary, Walter Payton, Jim McMahon, Willie Gault, Matt Suhey, William Perry, Gary Fencik … What an amazing team!

10. The 1984 Chicago Cubs: Dennis Eckersley, Lee Smith, Rick Sutcliffe, Steve Trout, Jody Davis, Larry Bowa, Bill Buckner, Ron Cey, Leon Durham, Ryne Sandberg, Bob Dernier, Davey Lopes, Gary Matthews, Keith Moreland, Jim Frey, Don Zimmer… Again…What a team! (Although I have always HATED Steve Garvey since that season!)
