Ok, so I had a lot of work to do tonight, and I was going to postpone my list…until I was threatened by Chaim! Heehehee! [**Note My original plan did not even include pictures of you, Mr. Krause….but guess what…..now it does! Hehehehe] So, I crawled into the crawl space and dug out a few pictures…
So, Here is my 10 on Tuesday…on time [Thank you, Chaim!]
Ok, these are in no particular order…..just how I am thinking and scanning pictures in tonight!
- My Duck, Spike – We found a duckling in the pond behind our house, and Mom & Dad let me keep “him” as we were doing major household renovations, so our house was already in complete disarray. As “Spike” grew up, it became evident that he was a she….so technically, I should have named her “Spikette!” This is one of the last photos I have with Spike, as she flew away a few days later…
- The MANY trips to Six Flags Great America with my friends and family. Here is a picture of Chaim with my little sister on one of those trips…
- My senior year experience as a teacher’s aide in a second grade classroom. I left high school everyday to go to a local elementary school to help out. I absolutely loved this. This confirmed that I definitely wanted to go into teaching! Here I am on my 18th birthday and the kids are presenting me with their homemade cards and gifts.
- My senior year United Way Volleyball Tournament that I planned as a fundraiser for the local United Way. A special thanks to my mom for being the inspiration and example on how to organize a huge undertaking like this! We had a lot of fun! Below is a picture of the United Way Board Members who came to play on the United Way team that night.
- Our trip to the state girls’ basketball tournament my sophomore year. My best friend was on the team, and I was just coming off of my volleyball season, so I decided to be the manager for her basketball team so we could at least see each other during the school year! We went to state that year. We were beat by East St. Louis Lincoln in the first round…and Leah will tell you that it’s because I braided her hair crooked, but don’t believe her! Here’s a picture I had to take out of my scrapbook (hence the cropped photo) of me, Leah and Carolyn when were out to dinner somewhere near U of I Urbana-Champaign. ..
- The original Three Musketeers! (well, we were sometimes 4 when Chaim was around) Leah, Darci and I were always together! Here we’re modeling our Army sweats we got from Chaim…
- Going to all of the different sporting events…football games, basketball, volleyball, softball, etc… I loved spectating!
- Driving to school at 6:20 AM in order to get a parking spot on the street (my best friend did not win the lottery for a sticker to the lot!)
- Numerous cans of Mountain Dew those mornings as we sat in the cafeteria working on homework and studying…before school (man….what the heck were we thinking getting to school so early?!?!? What kids won’t do to drive!)
- My senior year English classes with Mr. Freund. I loved that man! He was such a cool teacher! I think that’s one of the reasons why I LOVE teaching English!
There’s a zillion more memories and pictures that I have…but I really need to get to bed!

Let me know what you’re thinkin’!
